Dust mites, skin cells, pet hair, human hair, dirt and bacteria can build up over a short space of time, so we recommend you have your carpets and upholstery professionally cleaned at least once a year. Not only will this make your home healthier, but it also prolongs the life of your carpets and upholstery and transforms the appearance of your home.
This will vary depending upon how much soiling the carpet has and how much furniture needs to be moved. For speciality stain spotting and removing, the process can take longer.
Yes, we are fully trained in carpet and upholstery cleaning, and we constantly invest in ongoing training and equipment, expanding our knowledge and skills. So, if you’re looking for a carpet or upholstery cleaner you can trust, you’ve found us!
Yes we are. Our carpet and upholstery technicians are fully trained and insured to give our customers peace of mind.
Most reputable carpet cleaning companies invest heavily in their machinery and products to ensure their customers get the best clean possible. We set a minimum charge and the discount for each additional carpet cleaned at the same time. We do not compete with the “2 rooms for £30” offers as we believe our service is worth much more. With this type of offer, you often find the machines used are can be purchased or hired off the high street and the people using them have little or no knowledge of products and practices. The results achieved by using a professional machine like our Jaguar twin vacuum hot water extraction system can simply not be achieved by the use of something readily available to hire. You often find that carpets cleaned with this type of machine will become re-soiled and look dirty very quickly
Drying time is usually 2-5 hours, but the environment plays a big part in the drying times. Typically in the summer on a warm day with a breeze coming through, your carpets can dry in no time. During colder and wetter weather, it can take a little longer, but we have turbo air blowers to speed up the process if needed. A window must be left open to allow the moisture from the carpet to vent outside.
We offer all our customers stain protection for their carpets, upholstery and fabrics. Our Protect Nano acts as a surface protector for carpets and fabrics. The invisible layer prevents soiling and staining from spills. On an unprotected carpet, if you spill a drink the liquid will soak straight into the pile. However, when spilling something on a protected carpet, it will just sit on top of the pile, giving you time to blot it away. Carpets and fabric that have been protected will stay cleaner for longer. Any spillages should not be left untreated and should be removed by applying a dry absorbent cloth over the spill – do not rub, simply blot to remove. The Protect Nano coatings do wear off (like any stain protection) and will need reapplying within 2-4 years
The worst thing you can do with any stain is use cleaning agents found in supermarkets as this can make stain removal very difficult.
Most stains will be removed from the carpet during the carpet cleaning process. However, some stains may need specialist spot and stain treatment to remove them and in some circumstances it may be impossible to remove the stain completely. We will be able to advise you on this beforehand.
We use a hot water extraction system, leaving your carpets clean and healthy. This ensures your clean is carried out to the highest standard, achieving the best results.
Pre-inspection, we will visually inspect the carpet.
Please clear the room if you can. If you are unable to completely clear the room, all we ask is for you to remove small items such as small ornaments, plants and small tables. We can move the heavy items if you need us to.
Carpets are thoroughly vacuumed.
We pre-spray and treat spots and stains, helping to breakdown soiling and general stains for a more thorough clean, and lift dirt and bacteria.
Carpets are then agitated to ensure the pre-spray is worked in evenly across the carpet
We now use our hot water extraction machine to rinse your carpets and extract the dirt. The powerful twin vacuum extracts the dirt from the carpet while rinsing. The dirty solution is then pumped into the waste tank on our machine.
Stain protection is applied if required, then the carpet is groomed to make sure the pile is realigned.
Finally, we wipe down all skirting boards surrounding the carpet that has been cleaned, and any furniture moved is replaced.
We charge by the job, not by the hour, and each job varies. We offer multi-room and full house discounts. Please contact Tom on 07434 231504 today for a free quotation and we will be happy to discuss this further.
We’re happy to move the furniture for you as part of our Standard Clean service, but you can save money with our Walk Way Clean, where you either clear the room of furniture before we arrive, or leave it there and we’ll clean around it.
We do ask that any small items like ornaments are moved.
Yes, we clean rugs too. The cleaning process of a rug can in fact take longer than that of a lounge carpet, since the rug has to be vacuumed both front and back to dislodge the soiling before it can be cleaned.
We are happy to give your carpets a free survey, and advise what level of cleaning is necessary – if any. For a home with young children and pets, we advise a deep clean every six months. For a property with an elderly couple and less foot traffic, 12 to 18 months may be more suitable. Many of our clients choose a maintenance package whereby they may have a deep clean every 12 months, and a low-moisture clean every 6 months
We are happy to move non-breakable furniture before cleaning. It is recommended that you remove as many small objects from the cleaning area as possible. We can then move the larger bits and pieces. We use furniture sliders to prevent furniture causing friction damage to a carpet when moving larger items.
Highly unlikely. We treat each carpet individually in the cleaning process. Shrinkage of a carpet is caused by too much moisture in the carpet making the fibres swell up. We undertake a set of measures to prevent this, such as less moisture, more pass-through and additional drying. On the rare occasion that shrinkage occurs to a carpet, it will usually ‘relax’ and go back to previous size when dry.
No – faster soiling is a thing of the past. This was generally caused by some carpet cleaners using older detergents in the carpet that could not be rinsed out thoroughly. This left them sticky and thus attracted soil. Here at TWH Carpet Cleaning, we use biodegradable solutions that leave no sticky residue
We recommend a few hours after the clean. However, to assist in the process, we place your furniture on foam blocks or foil pads to further protect your carpet post-cleaning. This also ensures that an airflow is available, which wouldn’t be the case if furniture were placed straight back on the recently cleaned carpet.
At TWH Carpet Cleaning, we aim for 100% stain removal, which we often achieve. However, sometimes a stain may have already caused permanent damage by the time we reach it. No guarantee can be made that any particular stain will be removed. Some stains permanently damage the carpet fibres and no amount of specialist cleaning will reverse this. During our free survey, we always make our clients aware of the results they can expect on the marks.
Absolutely! Health and safety is of paramount importance in the cleaning industry. Our cleaning solutions are tested for their effects on the environment and occupants of areas in which they will be used. We recommended that children and pets stay off of a damp carpet until it is completely dry – this will help prevent slip and fall hazards, as well as tracking in fresh soil
